Inheritance

Unclaimed Assets

Unclaimed assets are valued at over $80 billion in the US. In UK they are estimated between £15 to £50 billion. India too has unclaimed deposits, insurances and funds in several billions. When an asset remains unclaimed for some years, it goes to the government. Reclaiming becomes tedious and expensive. Use inheritance in riddlock to protect your assets.

Asset Data

It is important that information about your assets is available to your family too. In times of emergency, when you are unable to access your account, your inheritor will get auto-access to your data after an inactivity period as set by you. This will help them get crucial information about your assets which they may not even be aware exists. Once they know, it will become easier for them to access or claim with minimum struggle and cost.

Zero Data Loss

Use inheritance to pass on your data from one generation to the next.

If I become inactive due to an emergency, my wife inherits my data. If she goes inactive, my daugher inherits from her, which includes my data. And so on.

In this manner one can cascade inherited data through generations with zero data loss.

Auto-Triggered

Your inheritance will automatically trigger if your account becomes inactive. For instance, if you have set 10 days as your inactivity period, your inheritor will get access to your data if you do not login for 10 consecutive days. The inheritor will get owner access to your data like a "power of attorney". They will have total access, including edit rights, until the time you re-login.

Set & Reset

You can set your inheritance at any time by simply entering the share handle of your inheritor and the number of inactive days for inheritance to trigger. You can change the inheritor or inactive days when you want or even reset the inheritance totally. If your inheritance has already triggered, you can reclaim it by simply logging in again and the inheritor will automatically lose the access.

Pre-Inheritance

Use private connects in riddlock to share asset information with loved ones at all times. This will help them in situations when you are away or stuck somewhere. For example, you may be on a flight, in a meeting or a remote place. If your family has access to your net banking password, they will be able to get funds they may need most urgently then. Privately connecting your spouse, partner or family will give them access to asset information before actual inheritance.

Asset Tracing

Sometimes tracing the history of an asset becomes important. You may have a property with payment records, tax receipts, EMIs, legal deeds and other relevant documents spread over years. If you or your family want to sell off the property in future, or if some dispute happens, the historical data will be crucial. Using personalized categories and datasheets in riddlock can help you organize asset information for life, and after.
